Is a bigger bike like the zx14 better for long trips, than say a zx6r...?

Friday before last I rode 820 miles. That was followed by rides the following days of 160 miles, 200 miles, 300 miles, 240 miles, 230 miles, 400 miles, 640 miles and 350 miles.
A "good" ride for me is about 300 miles. Longer than that and I have to deal with some discomfort. Anything under 200 is absolutely a joy. After 600, though, it's all a blur.
YMMV,

Besides comfort I don't believe a 600cc bike is really cut out for really long rides.
I've been cross country on 2 different 600cc bikes and both of them started leaking oil at the head gasket after the rides.
I also think a bigger bike is going to be easier to get comfortable on - I had to put risers on the 14 but that's just cause I'm old. :)

I would need a cane and a wheel chair. My hats off to you brother. Myself I would rather break that 820 up into quarters and then take it eze

Hmm, my g/f is going to school in new mexico, 370 miles.. I suppose i could ride down there, surprise her, ride a different route home (makes it about 420 miles) and that would put me at almost 800. I could find some different side tours and such.
Probably would only take about 8 hours.. Heh heh heh

Someone already did, in a previous thread. One guy mentioned 850 and another 1200!
I had just put a new seat cover on my bike which has piping around the main seating surface. That piping actually gave me blisters!

If comfort is a real issue, I'd go with a double bubble windscreen and bar risers and you should be set. I have stock screen and bar height and I just did 200 miles one way to Green Bay Wisconsin this afternoon and 200 back in the evening. It was cold, lots of tucked down riding. Not super comfortable IMO but the bike is cool enough for me to suffer it. A 600 would have been misery, I'm sure.
That reminds me, you really should adjust your headlight beam angle up if you want to get a better view of the road at night with out turning on your brights. I gotta do that soon.
